Cuban independence leader José Martí (who died 118 years ago today, on May 19, 1895) and the Vietnamese Ho Chi Minh (who was born 123 years ago today on May 19, 1890) were featured together on a Cuban postage stamp issued in 1972 on the occasion of the “Third Symposium Against the Yankee Genocide in Vietnam and its Extension in Laos and Cambodia,” which was held on May 19th of that year.
