Today In Latin American History

FSLN leader Daniel Ortega, who helped overthrow the decades-long Somoza regime in Nicaragua and was recently elected to a third term as president of the country, was born on November 11, 1946 in the town of La Libertad. He is pictured above on the March 31, 1986 issue of Time magazine.
