On October 6, 1976, Cubana de Aviación Flight 455 was brought down by two bombs planted on board shortly after takeoff in Bridgetown, Barbados. All persons aboard the plane died in a terrorist attack which has been widely attributed to a group of Cuban exiles working with the Venezuelan government and the CIA.
